The 470 ARG News Letter July 15 / 16 2009

Hello everyone and hope that you all have had a super week...Would like to let everyone know that Danny will have surgery this week , Thursday so please keep him in your prayers, he maybe  able to do some trivia but we have a couple new NCO arranged for the net Thursday, as it's the 3rd Thursday and I have a ARES and SCERS meeting..... so lets get started on the news letter, last week we talked about , Living Wills, Coffins and legalities..had several e mails stating that it made them think about the life after as some may call it..  I have a few links below that may also help...

 If your interested in emergency radio service ,and feel you have what it takes, check with your county EC to apply for a ARES position... or join your local club.... I am looking for ARES members who have a want to help and participate in all applications of being a member of ARES, and take a step further and join the Sevier County Emergency Radio Service, training is required, and we can help you fulfill training that is required for SCERS, e mail at scers2008@gmail.com  or contact me by phone at the phone number listed below... Also the 18th of July and the 1st of August we will be contucting a all day class for Tech Class only, I have several who have applied for these 2 dates, and still have room for more if you know someone who is interested in taking their Tech  exam.. The class will be conducted by Harvey Finwick, and will cover FCC Rules and Regs, Electronic Formula's and the Tech Q&A.. these classes will be conducted at the EOC at 245 Bruce Street, Sevierville TN, cost is 15.00, please bring a photo ID, there will be material also givin out free to take with you on ham radio  and  emergency type info...please contact me  at n4jtq@gmail.com  or call at 865-429-2422.. 1 hour lunch break and 3 - 15 min breaks... resturants close by, ...... this will be a interactive class in a class room setting, no distractions !! for the Q&A go to www.470arg.com   ............
